Consulting

Language freelancers trying to attract clients face not just a myriad of challenges – how to target customers more efficiently, how to increase market share, how to compete in the marketplace and keep ahead of competition, how to increase one-on-one communication with customers – but also how to bridge the cross-cultural gap.

Latitudes’ role as a marketing consultant for language freelancers is to help, from a cultural perspective, individual translators and interpreters not only retain current clients but also aggressively grow market share, open potential new markets and add new direct clients. We can help you develop, supervise and execute a marketing strategy for your language business.

Some of the activities we can consult on with you in your language business as a freelancer:

• Marketing Strategy Building

• Marketing Plan Preparation

• Marketing Plan Implementation

• Cross-Cultural Selling

• Multicultural Communication Strategy Development

• Cross-Cultural Market Research

• Customer Retention and Loyalty Programs

• Product/Service Branding

• Personal Branding

• Image Building and Retention

• Online Reputation Management

• Public Relations

• Full Marketing Mix Setting (Product, Price, Place and Promotion)

• E-Marketing

• Target Market and Market Segment Definition

Our consulting session is a highly focused meeting in which we come up with a specific strategy or approach to achieve a particular marketing, branding or business goal related to your translation business. In our time together we can do a lot, including review your website, create an online identity, get ideas on how to reach direct clients, go over/update your marketing plan, identify your vision, and much more.

How we spend the time is entirely up to you. We will most likely assign some preparatory work
before our meeting so that you will be able to get the most out of our time together.

How does it work?

We set up the time to meet, and then you receive a confirmation email with suggestions for your
preparation. Why do YOU need to be prepared? Because we want you to get the most from your

meeting, and advanced preparation is the best way to insure that you get all the value that can
be packed into that session.

What kind of preparation are we talking about?

The single most important thing you can know is what you want to achieve in our time together.
Besides that, it is usually helpful to have available some historical information about what’s worked and what hasn’t – for your business as well as any special challenges you have. What’s interesting about this preparation is that often our clients say that just getting ready for our strategy session was worth the effort and the fee! Of course, they’re pretty thrilled about the results of our meeting as well. The most common feedback we get is that, if only they had known how much it would help, they would have set up a meeting much sooner.

Latitudes’ consulting services come in packages of 1, 3, 5 or 10 hours, depending on what you would like to achieve.
